Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany was recently the target of on-air bashing during MBN’s “News Fighter” on Wednesday.

During a report about the 2016 Rio Olympics, news anchor Kim Myung-joon berated the K-pop star for her recent social media mistake.

He opened the news report by asking viewers whether they enjoyed Liberation Day.

Kim then referred to the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” to allude to Tiffany’s use of the Rising Sun Flag on social media.

At the end of the news segment, Kim once again brought up Tiffany and congratulated her for Korea’s loss against Japan in the semifinals of the women’s doubles in badminton.

Since the news report was aired, fans of Girls’ Generation have criticized the news anchor, as they feel that his comments are unprofessional and defame Tiffany. They urged him to make a public apology, but according to an MBN representative, he has no intention of rescinding his comments and apologizing.
