Seohyun from Korean girl pop group Girls’ Generation has been cast in the role of Dong Pu Ti in “Hwapok Daehwang” a Chinese Web drama, a local promotion agency announced Monday.

“Hwapok Daehwang” will be the first Chinese Web drama to be filmed entirely in Korea. The drama is about a boy who debuts as a celebrity in lieu of his brother. It is based on the teen romance novel of the same title.

Chinese actor Zhang He will play Seohyun’s love interest in the drama.

The filming for the drama will begin in late August. The drama will be directed by Korean director Hwang In-roi, who has already made several drama adaptations of comic books or novels. His notable works include “Princess Hours” (2006), “The Return of Iljimae” (2009), and “Late Night Restaurant” (2015).
