Taeyeon of Girls’ Generation is set to make her comeback with her second EP “Why” at midnight on June 27, the singer’s agency SM Entertainment announced Friday.

Taeyeon debuted as a member of K-pop group Girls’ Generation in August 2007. In the following year, the singer began to pursue a solo career including two drama sound tracks “If” for KBS2’s drama series “Hong Gil-dong” and “Can You Hear Me” for MBC’s drama series “Beethoven Virus.”

The singer’s first EP “I” was released in October 2015 and topped domestic music charts as well as iTunes albums charts and U.S. Billboard world albums charts, demonstrating her success as a solo artist.

She has since released singles, drama sound tracks and collaborative songs including “Rain” and “Blue Night of Jeju Island,” which were released in February and April respectively.

Meanwhile, Taeyeon will hold a solo concert “TAEYEON, Butterfly Kiss” at the Olympic Park Stadium in Seoul from July 9-10 and at KBS Hall in Busan from Aug. 6-7.
