Lee Seung-gi sings National Anthem during Memorial Day ceremony

Pfc. Lee Seung-gi, one of the most popular Korean entertainers who is currently serving in the special forces, sang the national anthem during a Memorial Day ceremony on Monday.

Pfc. Lee, stood on stage and sang the anthem in the ceremony, which was attended by the nation’s top officials and authorities, including President Park Geun-hye and leaders of the main political parties. The Memorial Day ceremony this year was aired through local network channel SBS.

Marking the 61th this year, the Memorial Day ceremony commemorates the soldiers who were killed in action or went missing during the Korean War and since. The ceremony takes place in Seoul National Ceremony at 10 a.m. every year.

Memorial Day has been a national holiday since 1970.
