I.O.I joins KCON 2016 France

New K-pop girl group I.O.I will be flying to Paris to attend KCON 2016 France which will be held on June 2 at Accor Hotels Arena.

Hosted by Korean entertainment and media company CJ E&M, the K-pop concert series was previously held in March in Abu Dhabi and in April at Tokyo, attracting 8,000 and 33,000 concertgoers, respectively.

There will also be concerts on June 24 and 25 at the Prudential Center in Neward, New Jersey, and June 29 to 31 at Los Angeles Convention Center and Staples Center.

The girl group will launch its music career with its first mini album on May 4, and is set to hold an official debut performance on May 5.

I.O.I is made up of 11 finalists who competed for about two months in Korean cable channel Mnet’s audition program “Produce 101,” which features young female trainees from local management agencies.

The group will also be starring on cable channel JTBC’s music program “To You Project Sugarman” which airs on Tuesday at 10:50 p.m.
