Onew talks ‘Descendants of the Sun’ experience

Singer-actor Onew of boy band SHINee shared his feelings on the finale of popular drama “Descendants of the Sun.”

“I faced many difficulties because it was my first-ever acting role in a drama,” he said on Thursday through a statement released by his label SM Entertainment. “But thanks to the staff, I was able to finish filming.”

In the drama, he plays Lee Chi-hoon, a first-year resident doctor, who learns and grows throughout his medical voluntary services in Uruk, a fictional war-torn country in the Mediterranean.

“I would like to thank the director, writer, staff and the actors,” he said. “This work will remain in my memory for a long time.”

The finale of 16-episode series “Descendants of the Sun” is set to go on air at 10 p.m. on Thursday.
