“I’m very honored to be cast as Quasimodo. I will try my best to showcase a good performance,” said Kim, who is making his musical theater debut with the upcoming production.

French musical “Notre-Dame de Paris” premiered in Paris in 1998 and is based on the well-known novel “The Hunchback of Notre-Dame.” Set in the backdrop of 1482, it follows young, beautiful gypsy girl Esmeralda and three men who vie for her love, including the physically deformed hunchback Quasimodo, the sly soldier Phoebus and Frollo, the priest of the Notre Dame cathedral.

The original French production visited here in 2005 and has continued its successful run several times since then.

The Korean rendition will open in Seoul in June for an eight-week run.
