Girl groups Fiestar and Lovelyz turned on the V app Saturday, the day before Valentine’s Day, to prepare chocolates for their fans.

Fiestar‘s Cao Lu, Jei and Hyemi went first, saying hello behind a table covered in various ingredients and materials for making and wrapping chocolate.

“We bought all these ingredients, but it’s a little awkward,” Jei said. “I‘ve never done this before.”

The girls promised their fans they would send the chocolates to the fan who posted the best screenshot of the V app broadcast to their fan cafe site, then proceeded to melt the white, milk and dark chocolate.

They melted the chocolate, put it into the piping tubes and squeezed it out into trays before letting it set. Cao Lu went with solid blocks, while Jei and Hyemi played around with blends of the different flavors.

Lovelyz had a similar concept for their V broadcast, but instead of melting and creating chocolates of their own, they settled on packaging premade chocolates into custom boxes.

“Yein told us not to make our own chocolates,” said Soojung. “She didn’t think that she could do a good job.”

The girls got to work soon, picking out the chocolates that they wanted to put into each of their boxes. Then, they individually showed off their boxes to the camera, describing what was in it.

The boxes were then given out to fans in a raffle on the spot.

British singer Mika, in Korea for a three-show concert tour, had a very different approach to Valentine‘s Day from the two girl groups.

“’Why do I hate Valentine‘s Day?’” he read from the comments. “Because it‘s s---, that’s why.” He laughed and explained that it could be fun “if you make it fun,” but that he wasn‘t “mad,” or crazy, about the holiday.

But he was still in high spirits as he talked to his fans from his hotel room.

“I want to say thank you so much for last night in Seoul and the night before in Busan. Unbelievable, unbelievable experience,” he said. “Quite frankly, the show last night, it just went by in a couple minutes because it was so much fun.”

Mika also showed off a sugar cake that his fans had sent him, topped with a sugar figurine.

“This is Korean Mika. And Korean Mika is eating bulgogi and pajeon, which is Korean pancake,” he said before cutting into the cake.

Meanwhile, the artists of hip-hop label AOMG turned on the app backstage at their AOMG family concert. Hosted mainly by rapper and CEO Simon Dominic, and with many appearances by co-CEO Jay Park, the camera was passed around and walked through the waiting rooms and hallways behind the concert.

The artists were all open to broadcasting their backstage antics on camera, fooling around, stretching, practicing and watching videos.

Other appearances on the V app included Hwang Chi-yeul, who showed up at Incheon International Airport with his fans sending him off to China for his promotions, Park Si-hwan at a company dinner and rapper Kisum together with singer U Seung-eun. Boy group GOT7 (with the exception of BamBam, who was heading to Thailand, and Jackson, who was resting in his room) checked in to the V app from a hotel in Japan.

Naver’s real-time broadcasting app V allows fans to interact with their favorite K-pop stars through live broadcasts. The app is available for Android and iOS. For more information, visit www.vlive.tv.
