Park Gyu-ri is poised to appear as a princess in the upcoming episode of KBS1’s historic TV series “Jang Young-sil.” on Saturday.

KBS1 confirmed Tuesday that Park is cast as the only daughter in Ming Dynasty’s royal family, who later falls in love with the protagonist and scientist Jang Young-sil played by actor Song Il-gook.

Previously, it was reported that she would play the role of a guardian for the inventor during Joseon Dynasty, which turned out to be false.

The series “Jang Young-sil” is a tribute to one of most renowned Korean science genius whose achievements and inventions are included in history textbooks.

The 27-year-old songstress-actress has not yet signed a contract with any agency, unlike the other two ex-Kara members whose contract with their former agency DSP Media ended on Jan. 15. Goo Ha-ra joined Keyeast on Jan. 18, while Han Seung-yeon clinched a deal with J,Wide Company on Tuesday.
