Girl group Wonder Girls’ Yubin came back into the limelight with a photoshoot for Allure Magazine’s February issue.

The spread portrays two different sides of the singer: the strong “hip-hop warrior” image she earned through Mnet’s “Unpretty Rapstar” and her softer side, with a more feminine feel.

The concept of the pictorial was to depict seven different themes according to Yubin’s choice of her favorite tunes. Among her selections were: Irma Thomas’ “Anyone Who Knows What Love Is,” 1970’s all-female rock band, The Runaways’ hit-song, “Cherry Bomb,” and Travis Scott’s “Don’t Play.” The crew at the site were all amazed at her ability in understanding and expressing all the songs.

The first two black-and-white photos are representations of Yubin’s softer side, looking elegant in classic white shirts with different details.

The classic black bodycon dress with a sheer cut in the front, gives her a “Bond-girl” vibe.

In another shot, the star looks hip in a vibrantly colored sweatshirt, matching cap, and strong make-up.

In a brief follow-up interview, she revealed, “Instead of confining my musical taste to a certain genre, I try to listen to different music to find my own color.”

She also added, “Wonder Girls’ new album is set to be released before the end of the year, and I personally want to collaborate with different artists this time.”

A full interview and more pictures from the spread can be found in Allure Korea’s February issue and the magazine’s official website.
