Actors Park Hae-jin and Seo Kang-joon, the male leads of the popular drama “Cheese in the Trap,” are taking viewers’ heart by dazzling their own unique charms on the screen.

In the latest episode that went on air Tuesday evening, Yoo Jung, played by Park, asks Hong Seol (Kim Go-eun) out and they begin dating.

Yoo is the popular guy at school for his good looks, kind personality, high academic performance and well-off background. So when this perfect guy asks out Hong, an average girl, she is in denial yet flattered at the same time.

Since they began dating, Yoo has been very kind to Hong, taking her out on a lavish dinner, uses his connection to help her attend an English institute for free and visits her at work and buys coffee to her coworkers.

But at the same time, Hong is uncertain what Yoo’s real intentions are because she knows his complex personality. He can be caring and kind one day but cold and egocentric the other day. Especially, after hearing from Baek In-ho, played by Seo, that he cannot use his left hand because Yoo hurt him in the past, Hong is confused of who Yoo really is, making her more nervous.

Meanwhile, Baek is different from Yoo in every possible way. He dresses like a hippie, live each day without a stable job, asks Hong to pay for his meals and makes fun of Hong all the time. He is not the gentleman type and is short tempered.

But Hong feels comfortable when she is around Baek, eating instant ramen noodles together and running in the rain. When she has concerns in her life, it is Baek who appears and makes her smile with his goofiness.

Toward the end of Tuesday’s episode, Yoo spotted Hong with Baek, expecting a complicated love triangle to unfold in following episodes.

“Cheese in the Trap,” which is based on the eponymous webtoon, airs every Monday and Tuesday at 11 p.m. on tvN network.
