iKON’s concert tickets sell out in minutes

Korean rookie boy band iKON once again proved their high popularity, with 10,000 tickets for their upcoming concert sold out minutes after first round of sales for Jan. 30 concert began Wednesday.

iKON, consisting of YG trainees, made its debut in September 2015 with a single “My Type,” becoming a sensation among global K-pop fans. They then released hit songs such as “Rhythm Ta” and “Apology.”

In October 2015, 13,000 tickets for their first tour “Showtime” was sold out.

The planned concert, dubbed “iKONCERT 2016 Showtime Tour in Seoul,” is scheduled to take place at Seoul Olympic Gymnasium at 6 p.m. on Jan. 30-31.

The second round of ticket sales will be held Thursday at 8 p.m. (GMT+9), for the Jan. 31 concert. Tickets are available at South Korean online commerce platform Auction’s website (ticket.auction.co.kr) at 77,000 won ($70).
