Jung-hwan (Ryu Jun-yeol) likes childhood friend Deok-sun (Lee Hyeri) but hasn’t revealed his feelings to her. While Deok-sun notices Jung-hwan’s feelings, she is not 100 percent sure because he has been hesitant and shy about it. Jung-hwan is secretive because their mutual friend Taek also likes Deok-sun, foreshadowing a complicated love triangle to unfold in upcoming episodes.

Taek (Park Bo-gum) told openly to his guy friends -- including Jung-hwan -- that he likes Deok-sun a lot. “I just like being with her. I might die if she was not around,” Taek said when asked why he likes her. In the latest episode, Taek told Deok-sun that he likes someone and is planning to confess his feelings to that person. But as of now, Deok-sun has no clue that Taek likes her.

At first, they misunderstood the meeting location and waited at different places. But at the end, they finally got together. Jung-bong gave Mi-ok red roses and they kissed.

Taek’s dad Moo-sung (Choi Moo-sung) and Sun-woo’s mom Sun-young (Kim Sun-young) have gotten close to each other. The two, both widowed, depend on each other, but have yet to reveal their feelings. Sun-young is concerned about how his son Sun-woo would react if she to ever remarry.

“Reply 1988” centers on family and everyday life against the backdrop of a small Seoul neighborhood in 1988. The 20-episode series airs every Friday and Saturday at 7:50 p.m. on cable channel tvN.
