Since the two musicians share a common background -- both are rappers, singer-songwriters and record producers -- they have been frequently compared to each other. Some have even said Zico is imitating G-Dragon.

Zico said at the event: “It is nonsense that I copy him. We have nothing in common in terms of music genre.”

He added, “Although I appreciate the comparison because he is a top singer, we are heading in completely different directions.”

“The claims seem to have come from my anti-fans -- and not from G-Dragon’s fans. So, I am not shaken by that,” the 23-year-old rapper said.

His first solo album’s title track “Eureka” went straight to the top of seven local music charts immediately after its release Monday.
