On the show, hit comedian Park Na-rae appeared as a guest, saying, she often does something to show off or pretend to have something.

“Even when I have no money, I try to treat people even by borrowing money. I don’t want to show hesitation at the counter,” she said.

Alberto Mondi from Italy agreed with her, saying, “It is normal for people to try to show off.” Guillaume Patry from Canada also said, “I feel good when I spend money on other people.”

Daniel Lindemann from Germany disagreed, saying, “If someone wants to be recognized from everyone -- besides close friends -- that could be a problem.”

The panelists also talked about the “show-off” culture across various country.

Alberto Mondi said, “Italians are best known for being ostentatious” citing the popularity of designer goods and sports cars in the nation.

“Many Italian guys are showing off to appeal to women,” he said.

Przemyalaw Krompiec from Poland picked China as a pretentious nation, saying, “I had a Chinese friend who always wore gold necklaces and bracelets. I don’t understand why he was appealing with the jewelry.”

Alberto Mondi had a different idea, saying, “I think Chinese are humble because there are many humble expressions in the Chinese language. When I compliment them, they always say ‘No’ while Italians just say ‘Thank you.’”

“Non-Summit” airs every Monday at 10:50 p.m.
