The production crew for the fifth season of SBS audition competition show “K-pop Star” recently released a teaser clip, hinting at the first episode, which is set to air Sunday.

One of the contestants carefully introduced herself as singer Lee Hi’s older sister, surprising the panel that included the chief of Lee’s agency, Yang Hyun-suk.

Brody, a former contestant in the third season, also shows up, looking more mature and taller than two years prior.

“Compared to the last season where female contestants were relatively more competent, there are a large number of male contestants who have high potential,” said Yang, signaling the forthcoming skilled participants.

The three panelists -- Yang Hyun-suk, Park Jin-young and Yoo Hee-yeol -- explained their own evaluation standards as well.

In the new season, a “guest member evaluation system” will be adopted in which artists and staff members from each agency -- YG Entertainment, JYP Entertainment and Antenna Music -- will also take part in the evaluation process.

The show will air at 6:10 p.m., taking the time slot of SBS variety show “Running Man,” which has been moved to 4:50 p.m.
