‘She Was Pretty’ breaks viewership record

Popular MBC TV drama “She Was Pretty” recorded its highest viewership rating Thursday since its Sept. 16 premiere.

The latest and ninth episode pulled a nationwide viewership of 16.7 percent, according to Nielsen ratings. The figure is a 2.2-percent hike from the previous episode and its highest to date.

In the episode, Kim Hye-jin, played by Hwang Jung-eum, went through a dramatic makeover from her clumsy, bad-hair self to being sophisticated and fashionable. Toward the end of the show, Ji Sung-joon, played by Park Seo-joon, realized he has feelings for Kim.

Rival programs KBS2’s “The Merchant: Gaekju” and SBS’ “The Village: Achiara’s Secret” airing in the same time slot reached ratings of 10 percent and 5.2 percent, respectively.

The romantic comedy, also starring Choi Si-won and Go Joon-hee, airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 10 p.m.
