JYP and TWICE under fire for suggestive school uniform ad
CEO of JYP Entertainment Park Jin-young is coming under attack for his overly sexualized underage school uniform print advertisement.
Park, together with his new idol girl group TWICE, modeled for uniform brand School Looks.
An online petition was raised against their poster ad, calling it “unnecessarily suggestive” and “merchandising women.”
The poster in question shows Twice members dressed in body-hugging short uniforms, with catchphrases “Shading skirt” and “Corset jacket.”
The petitioner said, “The models in the poster more resemble Lolita fetish bar hostesses than 13 to 18-year-old school girls,” and “If we don’t make an issue out of it, this will go unnoticed and unchallenged,” urging social groups to take caution against the suggestive advertisements sending wrong messages to impressionable young women.
