iKON excited about debut

YG Entertainment’s newest hip-hop boy band iKON -- comprising B.I, Bobby, Jinhwan, Junhoe, Yunhyeong and Donghyuk -- popped up on V app Tuesday night in celebration of the group’s much-anticipated debut. The boys gathered at the dance studio of YG Entertainment, excited about the midnight release of their song, “My Type.”

At exactly 11:55 p.m. during their live broadcast, iKON members said: “We only have 5 minutes left until we’re real singers, and no longer trainees!”

“We’re not on a survival audition program anymore,” said vocalist Jinhwan. iKON was first introduced to the public on YG Entertainment’s reality audition TV show, “Who is Next: Win.”

Three minutes before midnight, the members donned party hats and lit candles on a cake, revving up for their big celebration. As the screen clock finally hit 12 o’clock sharp, the boys whooped, clapped and asked fans for support, checking their cell phones for the song’s listing on Melon, Korea’s major music streaming service.

Minhyuk chats with fans

CNBLUE’s Minhyuk met fans on V app in the band’s practice studio. “We’ve been so busy with our album release, shooting in Japan and Korea,” he said.

Via V app’s comment section, fans asked Minhyuk whether he placed work before his personal relationships, and what he would say if his girlfriend asked him to answer.

“I don’t know, they’re both important,” said Minhyuk, flustered. Fans then told him, “You should tell her ‘You’re just as important as my career.’”

Minhyuk continued to chat cozily during his 26-minute broadcast, engaging intimately with his fans.

Sunmi and Hyerim give health, beauty tips

On Tuesday’s V app broadcast of “Yubin and Sunmi’s You & Me,” Yubin was not present due to her shooting of TV program “Unpretty Rapstar,” which she has recently joined as a cast member. Hyerim filled in instead alongside Sunmi, offering tips on how to keep healthy and fit.

“You have to find food that suits your body well,” she said. “For me, my body reacts better to brown rice than barley. And I try to drink at least two liters of water every day.”

“She always carries around a huge bottle of water with her,” said Sunmi.

“It’s also important to drink warm water in the morning when you wake up,” Hyerim said. “Sunmi tends to drink ice-cold water in the mornings. That’s not good for you,” she told her teammate.

The girls proceeded to discuss how to get rid of dark eye circles, moisturize the skin during the cooler and drier seasons and greeted fans in English.

Hyerim then revealed the inside of her makeup pouch, which included an eye shadow palette, lipstick, eye cream and a lip gloss that was gifted to her by former Wonder Girls’ member Sunye.

The lively trio of music producer Yoo Hee-yeol, comedian Jung Hyung-don and writer and television personality Yoo Byung-jae also appeared on V app, announcing the launch of their new radio show “Yeowoosai” -- an acronym for “Let’s talk about love here” in Korean -- which begins airing on Friday, Sept. 18 on KBS2.
