Wonder Girls talked about the former members in a recent interview with a local entertainment media outlet.

In an interview with Ilgan Sports, the girl group, which has recently returned as a band, said they understood former members Sohee and Sunye.

Asked about Sohee, who recently left the group to pursue her acting career, member Yeeun said, “Sohee really wanted to do acting since her childhood. She had to give up due to years of performances in the U.S. Now, she decided to focus on what she really wants.”

Hyerim said, “We wanted to continue to work together. Still, this is not something we can force because they had what they really wanted."

Yeeun said, “Sohee and Sunye did their best and we had a long conversation. They said they could no longer join us. Sunye had a dream of becoming a missionary and Sohee wanted to be an actress. We were also well aware of their dreams.”

Asked about Sunmi’s comeback to Wonder Girls from a solo singer, she said, “Wonder Girls was like my hometown where I had to return. I thank my members who kept waiting for and supporting me.”

Yeeun said, “We also thank Sunmi because her solo career was also successful. Since we prepared for the new album, she gave up her solo career to practice bass guitar.”

Wonder Girls returned as a four-member band, releasing its third album “Reboot” on Aug. 3.
