Two of Korea’s sweetest girl groups, Apink and Red Velvet, were the highlight of Thursday’s V app broadcasts with their charming chatter.

Apink members tuned in at 10 a.m. for their “meokbang” session, in which they eat and broadcast. Four members -- Bo-mi, Nam-joo, Ha-young and Cho-rong -- appeared on the dining show, as the other two, Na-eun and Eun-ji, were away filming dramas at the time.

The members were excited about the meals they would be devouring during the broadcast: spicy chicken feet, tteokbokki, cake and bingsu, all of which are late-night-snack staples.

But to make the broadcast more interesting, the members had to answer a quiz before they were allowed to dig in. Nam-joo was the first to answer a question correctly, receiving a bowl of tteokbokki. She devoured the spicy food, while other members waited to answer the next question. Later, Cho-rong won the spicy chicken feet.

Ha-young begged to share their food, while they teased her. At the end, all four members shared their food and ate together.
One of the fans jokingly commented “you gained weight,” during the show.

“How can you stay skinny all the time?” said Bomi in response. “Our body is currently set for the off-promotion period, little bit chubby” said Cho-rong as she continued eating.

The 40-minute show came to an end as the members finished all the food. “For the next broadcast, we will prepare a funnier show because when we eat, we don’t talk much,” said Cho-rong.

Five-member group Red Velvet went live for the third episode of their special daily show at 8:30 p.m.

The rookie girl group broadcast from inside a car after performing on stage at Mnet’s “M Countdown.”

“We had a good performance today,” said Irene.

Members then blurted out the good news to the viewers.

“Today, our album ranked No. 1 on the music chart for the first time, thanks to the fans,” Wendy said.

“Thank you! We will work harder and sing more good songs,” said Seulgi.

During the broadcast that garnered a whopping 1.7 million plus hearts, the girls decided to show the viewers what they usually do inside their car ride: listen to songs and dance along.

The first song that came out was their new single “Dum Dum,” an upbeat song where girls sang along and danced. Second was Girls’ Generations’ latest hit “Lion Heart.”

The members congratulated Girls’ Generation for grabbing the top spot on the music program “M Countdown” on Thursday.

“Hopefully, we will become good singers like Girls’ Generation in the future,” said Seulgi.

Further on Thursday’s V, Teen Top members Ricki and Changjo checked in from Japan at 8:30 p.m. to greet the fans, with Changjo putting on a pair of Minion goggles to make viewers laugh.
