Actor Ji Chang-wook credited TV series “Healer” and “Empress Ki” for boosting his fame in an interview with local fashion magazine Grazia.

“(The reason for hallyu fever) is that TV dramas work. Fans like me because they liked the character I played in the dramas. They knew Seo Jung-hoo (‘Healer’) and Ta Hwan (‘Empress Ki’) before they knew Ji Chang-wook,” Ji said.

“Both works were very tough, I’m glad all the troubles were worth it,” the 28-year-old actor said.

Ji is currently touring Asia for fan events, singing up to 10 songs at each meetup.

The Grazia edition containing Ji’s interview and photos will be released Saturday.
