The first episode of “Odd Daughter-in-law” (literal translation) aired Monday on KBS.

The new Monday-Tuesday drama features an upscale traditional family whose members participate in a virtual marriage program on TV, in order to boost the public profile of their professor son.

Cheeky pop star Oh In-young, played by K-pop girl group Sistar’s Dasom, is forced to volunteer to join the program as a virtual wife. The character has to earn money to pay the fines involving her assault on a junior starlet.

The plan backfires and generates twists, leading to a typical Korean family conflict between a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law.
“Odd Daughter-in-law” airs every Monday and Tuesday on KBS at 10 p.m.
