Singer and actor Park Yoo-chun is set to begin his military duty on Aug. 27, his agency C-JeS Entertainment said Tuesday.

“Park’s admission ceremony will take place in private on Aug. 27,” said Park’s label, adding, “We would like to ask for your kind understandings for the private event. We have made the decision according to the singer’s wishes, and the military training center also stated difficulties regarding a press event.”

Also, the agency announced that there will be a fan meeting on Aug. 25 titled “2015 JYJ Membership Week,” through which two members of the JYJ boy group -- Yoochun and Junsu -- will meet their fans prior to Park’s enlistment.

He is set to serve his two-year duty as a public service worker and will be stationed at a public office, substituting for the mandatory 21-month service term at a military camp due to his asthma.
