Singer-actor Choi Si-won of Super Junior will enter the military this year, his label SM Entertainment told media on Thursday.

“Choi will enlist in the army after completing the MBC drama ‘She Was Pretty,’” an official of the label was quoted as saying in the report. “But the exact date is yet to be confirmed.”

In the upcoming drama “She Was Pretty,” which will hit the air in September, Choi will play fashion magazine editor Kim Shin-hyuk. He is known for his past roles in SBS drama “Athena: Goddess of War” in 2010 and “The King of Dramas” in 2012.

Choi will be the seventh to enter the military among 12-member band Super Junior. Shindong and Sungmin are currently enlisted, while four members, Kangin, Yesung, Heechul and Leeteuk, have completed duty.

The two-year-long military service applies to all able-bodied South Korean men in a country that is still technically at war with North Korea.
