YG Entertainment announced Monday that Tablo, a member from the trio Epik High, is set to release an album in collaboration with American hip-hop singer Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott, better known as Joey Bada$$.

The project is a global hip-hop collaboration organized by Korean music production and distribution firm Luminant Entertainment.

Tablo will join Korean producer Code Kunst (Jo Sung-woo), as well as Joey Bada$$ on the project.

Luminant Entertainment designed the new project in an effort to promote Korean hip-hop in the U.S. hip-hop market, which has high barriers to entry.

Scott debuted in January 2015 with “B4.DA.$$,” which gained popularity through hip-hop sounds popular in the ‘90s, such as its “boom bap” style. Boom bap is a style of hip-hop signified by a hard bass drum and snapping snare, rather than claps and snaps.

The collaboration album of Tablo and Scott is set to be released in August.
