Beast tops rankings with new EP

K-pop boy band Beast’s latest EP “Ordinary” swept the music charts Monday.

The lead song “Yey” of the EP ranked No. 1 on eight local charts, including Melon, Olleh, Mnet, Bugs and Genie.

Other songs of the album -- “Gotta Go to Work” and “There” -- have also ranked near the top of the charts.

The six-member band released the eight-track EP on Monday. Ahead of the release, the band went on air and talked about the new album and unveiled the music video of “Yey” via portal site Naver’s “Starcast” on Sunday at 11 p.m.

“Yey” is an electronic dance song that was written and composed by the Good Life ?producing duo composed of Kim Tae-joo and Beast member Yong Jun-hyung.
