WINNER’s Mino apologizes for his rap lyrics
Mino, a member of K-pop boy band WINNER, Monday formally apologized for the controversial rap lyrics he improvised last week.
On cable TV show “Show Me the Money 4,” Mino uttered the controversial line: “spread your legs wide as if you are at maternity clinic.”
The 22-year-old rapper uploaded an official statement Monday to his Facebook: “I feel terribly sorry for the controversial lyrics. As I am competing against other rappers in an audition program, there was heavy pressure on me to write lyrics that are more incendiary and piquant. I now feel deeply ashamed for what I have done on air.”
Meanwhile, the Korea Communication Standards Commission said last week that his inappropriate remark is now under review, whereas the Korea Association for Obstetricians and Gynecologists issued an official statement calling for an apology.
