As promised, K-pop boy band Big Bang dropped two new songs for July on Wednesday.

The five-member band released its third EP “D,” containing two tracks “If You” and “Sober,” as part of the band’s special project album “MADE.”

“If You” and “Sober” ranked first and second, respectively, on eight local charts, including Melon, Olleh and Genie, upon its midnight release.

The latest EP “D” topped the iTunes Singles Chart in 16 countries, including Hong Kong, Malaysia, Norway, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, proving the band’s global popularity.

The sentimental ballad “If You,” touted as the band’s most emotional piece, was written and composed by member G-Dragon, together with composers PK and Dee.P who respectively put out the group’s hit “Monster” and Taeyang’s “Eyes, Nose, Lips.”

“Sober,” written by producer Teddy and members G-Dragon and T.O.P., and composed by Choice 37, is an energetic pop song set to hit the summer season.

Since June, Big Bang has dropped two pairs of songs each month under the project album “MADE.” The previous releases in the project topped local charts upon their releases.

The quintet will unveil its last EP “E” on Aug. 1. The full-length album “MADE,” containing all the released songs from June, will be unveiled on Sept. 1.
