Girl group Apink vocalist Jung Eun-ji was revealed as the mysterious singer behind the mask with the alias “Mom Hates UV Rays” on Sunday.

On the popular MBC TV show “King of Mask Singer,” during which contestants sing while wearing elaborate costumes and masks that hide their identities, Jung and other masked singers vied for the title as the sixth King of Mask Singer.

Jung performed “Love Rain,” originally sung by Kim Tae-woo, and competed with alias “CBR Cleopatra,” a two-time winner of the program, who sang Bobby Kim’s “Love That Guy.”

Jung lost to “CBR Cleopatra,” and as a result she had to take off her mask and reveal her identity.

The star panel on the show was surprised when Jung unmasked herself, because the panelists expected the singer to be in her 30s or 40s, based on her intriguing and mature voice. Only composer Yoon Il-sang of the panel member guessed it was Jung behind the mask.

Jung, 23, debuted as part of six-member Apink in 2011. As a main vocalist of the group, she is known for her sweet yet powerful voice. She also kicked off a successful acting career by starring in television drama “Reply 1997” in 2012.
