The latest Korean martial arts film starring Lee Byung-hun and 2PM’s Junho may pull forward its scheduled release date to August.

The movie, “Memories of the Sword,” was originally slated for release in the latter half of this year, but industry insiders on Tuesday said the film may be released at an earlier date in summer’s peak theatrical month of August.

Distributor Lotte Entertainment has not confirmed a release date and is said to be watching the Korean cultural market trends, following the MERS outbreak in late May.

The main cast includes acclaimed actors Lee Byung-hun, Jeon Do-yeon and Kim Go-eun as skilled swordsmen. The film is set in the Goryeo dynasty and deals with themes of rivalry, revenge and greed.

2PM singer Junho, actors Lee Gyeong-young and Bae Soo-bin also play supporting roles.
