South Korean entertainment agency KeyEast said Monday it signed a deal with Chinese mobile game maker Chukong and PandaKorea -- a firm selling Korean goods to Chinese customers online -- in a bid to coproduce a mobile game featuring actor Kim Soo-hyun.

Under the deal, KeyEast would provide content for Chukong’s mobile game, and PandaKorea would be in charge of investment and promotion.

The video game -- targeting casual gamers -- is set to be rolled out late this year. Users can take care of and grow Kim Soo-hyun’s game character. Relevant merchandizing products will also be available on the market.

“We will make a game which both K-drama fans as well as ordinary Chinese players can easily enjoy,” said the chairman of Chukong.

“We are happy to partner with the global game maker to produce a game capitalizing on Korean content. This will be a good example of linking drama and music content with the high-value business like the game industry,” said Bae Sung-woong, chief of the agency.
