Singer and fashion entrepreneur Jessica, who left girl group Girls’ Generation about a year ago, has featured on the front cover of a local fashion and beauty magazine.

The singer took part in the photoshoot, published in Beauty Plus’ June issue.

“It was (Jessica’s) first photoshoot in a long time, so she must have been nervous,” said the magazine’s visual director Kim Woo-ri. “But she was kind and considerate toward the other staff members, which was touching to see.”

The magazine said that Jessica seemed a little hesitant and unsure on set, though she soon warmed up.

“I wanted to reveal Jessica’s natural beauty, rather than try to show a new side through special makeup effects,” said makeup artist Park Tae-yoon, who created Jessica’s pared-down makeup.

The clothes sported by Jessica in the photoshoot are similarly comfortable and effortless.

Jessica hinted that a new range of white T-shirts and denim clothes would soon be released in July, as part of her self-founded fashion brand BLANC & ECLARE. The collection centers on staple summer fashion items.

“I try not to pay too much attention to what other people think and I’m happy now,” said Jessica to the magazine.

BLANC & ECLARE is available online and in specialty shops and exclusive retail locations across Asia.
