K-pop boy band Big Bang’s new EP has topped local music charts less than a day after the release.

Big Bang released its EP “A,” consisting of the two songs “Bang Bang Bang” and “We Like 2 Party,” at midnight on Monday. “Bang Bang Bang” ranked No.1 on nine music charts, including Melon, Bugs and Genie, immediately after the release. “We Like 2 Party” followed in a close second.

“Bang Bang Bang” has also topped charts abroad, including iTunes single charts in Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Big bang’s two songs that were released earlier in May, “Loser” and “Bae Bae” are still strong on the local charts as well.

The latest songs are part of the project album “MADE,” which brought the popular K-pop idol group back to the music scene after a three-year hiatus. The band released the first EP “M” on May 1, followed by the second EP “A” on June 1.

The band is slated to release “D” and “E” on July 1 and Aug. 1, respectively.
