Nana of K-pop girl group After School is gearing up to make a foray into the Chinese film industry with an upcoming Chinese rom-com, local and Chinese news reported Monday.

Nana has been cast in the lead role for the sequel to “Go Lala Go” alongside top-notch Chinese actors Vic Zhou and Ariel Lin, according to her agency Pledis Entertainment.

The 23-year-old singer-actress has been taking part in the filming since mid-May in Shanghai.

Following several appearances on Chinese TV, the film marks Nana’s first appearance on the silver screen.

”Go Lala Go,“ a modern take on “Cinderella,“ features the life of ordinary office worker “Lala.” The film is set to premiere in China late this year or early next year.
