Kim Young-kwang to star in new medical TV drama

Korean actor Kim Young-kwang will star as the lead character in an upcoming TV drama "D-Day," which starts broadcasting later this year.

"D-Day" is a tense medical drama, broadcast by JTBC. Kim will play the role of a general surgeon Lee Hae-seong, passionate about saving lives.

Kim's character Lee, while dashingly handsome, has little dating experience and has never even had his first love.

Other than work, which he is tirelessly dedicated to, Lee enjoys extreme sports, collects action figures, and takes care of beetles at home.

When disaster hits Seoul, the skillful doctor rushes to the scene to save lives.

"D-Day" will employ CGI graphics and a star-studded cast. The TV drama is soon expected to announce a formal broadcast date.

Kim, a former model, most recently played a supporting role in the popular TV romantic drama "Pinocchio."
