K-pop girl group 2NE1’s CL will throw the ceremonial first pitch at a Major League Baseball game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Texas Rangers in June.

The 24-year-old starlet, gearing up for her imminent America debut, has been selected as the ball-thrower as a part of the Korea Night event hosted by the Korea Tourism Organization’s LA branch.

The game between the LA Dodgers, the team of South Korean MLB pitcher Ryu Hyun-jin, and Texas Rangers, the team of South Korean outfielder Choo Shin-soo, is one all Koreans are expected to pay close attention to.

It is yet to be confirmed whether the LA Dodgers player will be able to participate in the game in June. Ryu, 28, has been sidelined all season due to an injury to his dominant left shoulder.

The LA Dodgers said Tuesday that it is considering a potential season-ending shoulder operation for Ryu.
