Big Bang’s latest songs become sensation in China

K-pop boy band Big Bang is enjoying popularity in China, after the group released its songs “Loser” and Bae Bae” on Friday.

The group’s label YG Entertainment said Wednesday that online keyword searches associated with Big Bang were searched around 952 million times on Chinese social network site Weibo as of Monday.

Among the searches, the word “Big Bang” topped the list, with 850 million searches, followed by the name of the latest album “Made Series,” which was searched 64 million times. The title track “Loser” was searched 23.8 million times, while “Bae Bae” was looked up 14.3 million times.

“Loser” topped the iTunes Chart in Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore and Taiwan on Wednesday. The song has dominated the local charts in Korea for six consecutive days.

Big Bang’s latest songs are part of the project album “MADE.” The first EP, “M” -- taking the first alphabet of the project name -- unveiled two tracks, “Loser” and “Bae Bae,” on May 1.

“A” will be released on June 1 and will be followed by “D” and “E” on July 1 and Aug.1, respectively.
