Big Bang members will take turns serving in the military, which is required of all able-bodied South Korean men, YG Entertainment head Yang Hyun-suk said Sunday.

When Big Bang members join the army in the future, it will be a critical issue for both YG Entertainment and fans, as their military service will inevitably affect any pending schedules.

“Big Bang members will take turns going to the army. Even when down in numbers, Big Bang will still be the same group,” Yang said after the group’s concert on Sunday. “Big Bang made a successful comeback after a three-year gap. What would a two-year military term mean with that?”

During the three-year hiatus, individual members of Big Bang continued to release solo albums. Leader G-Dragon put out EP “COUP D’ETAT” in 2013 and Taeyang dropped “Eyes, Nose, Lips” in 2014.

Yang said YG hopes to extend the contract with Big Bang members, which is due to expire in mid-2016.

Big Bang is set to unveil a single on the first day of every month from May to August, with cumulative EP “MADE” slated to release in September. The single to release in May is named “M,” taking the first alphabet of the project name, “MADE.” “M” will contain two new songs, “LOSER” and “BAE BAE.”
