It’s JYP time
By Ahn Sung-mi
It is a new heyday for JYP Entertainment as the label’s affiliated singers dominate the local music charts.
K-pop girl group Miss A, eponymous CEO Park Jin-young and rapper San E -- who used to be signed with the agency -- are at the center of the force to bring back the agency’s once faltering legacy in the K-pop industry.

As of Sunday, rapper San E’s title track “Me You” from his first full-length album nabbed No. 1 on major music charts, including Melon, Genie, Naver Music, Olleh Music and Soribada.
Although the 30-year-old rapper is now signed with popular hip-hop label BrandNew Music, he debuted with JYP in 2010 and credits Park Jin-young for his musical influences.
The chart-topping song “Me You” features JYP singer Baek Ye-rin, from female duo 15&.

Taking second place on the local charts was music mogul Park Jin-young’s new single “Who’s Your Mama.”
At 43, Park reached another pinnacle as a dance singer when the track was released on April 12. He even comically apologized to the members of Miss A through Twitter for beating their popular song “Only You.”

Miss A’s “Only You,” which was released on March 30, landed in the third place. The song has topped the local charts for two weeks in a row, until their boss Park entered the music scene.
