The Chinese film “Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy,” starring ex-Super Junior member Hankyung, is scheduled for release Thursday, according to the movie distribution company Noori Pictures.

The war flick, helmed by Chinese director Tsui Hark and starring Zhang Hanyu and Liang Jiahui, will be released in local cinemas, cable TV channels and online platforms, including T-Store and Olleh TV.

Set in the late 1940s, the big-budget movie revolves around Chinese elite troops carrying out covert operations to sweep a group of thieves during the Chinese revolution.

Hankyung played a character who bridges the past and the present.

The film’s shoot took place for about four months last year across China.
