Tao, member of K-pop boy band EXO, broke his silence about rumors that he would depart from the 10-member group.

In response to a fan who asked on Instagram whether he would leave the team, Tao said he would not exit the band and asked his fans to trust him.

The fan wrote, “I hope you don’t break our promise. I believe that you would make the best possible choice.”

Fans’ anxiety increased after China’s biggest online video site, iQIYI.com, reported Thursday that the Chinese member demanded his contract be nullified.

EXO‘s label, SM Entertainment, has not commented on the reports.

The 10-member K-pop sensation lost two Chinese members -- Kris and Luhan -- last year after they filed for termination of their contracts.

They cited unreasonably long contracts and an exploitation of human rights as the reason behind their decision.

Despite the members’ departures, EXO has fared well, sweeping year-end music awards in 2014.

EXO recently made a return to the music scene with its second studio album ”EXODUS.“
