Korean entertainment giant CJ E&M said Thursday it will produce a Web drama starring two K-pop artists managed by YG Entertainment -- girl group 2NE1's Sandara Park and boy group Winner's Kang Seung-yoon.

Based on a Webtoon of the same title, the drama, "We're Separated," will portray the country's younger generation battling with their unclear future through the odd story of an unmarried young couple who are driven to live together even after they are separated, the company said.

In the new series, 2NE1's Park will play No Wu-ri, a high-spirited college graduate who struggles to land a job against all odds, while Winner's Kang will take the role of Ji Won-yeong, a vocalist of an indie band who works a part-time job at night to earn a living.

It will also star model Kang Seung-hyun and model and actor Jang Gi-yong as the chief of a major record label's planning office and a common friend of the two lead characters, respectively.

The drama will be uploaded on CJ E&M's YouTube channel (http://youtube.com/insitetv) and the digital platforms of YG and its affiliate model agency, YG Kplus, starting in early June. (Yonhap)
