Outdoor clothing brand Nepa said Monday it is attracting a growing number of Chinese shoppers due to commercials featuring actress Jun Ji-hyun, who has been modelling for the brand since 2013.

Her drama “My Love from Another Star,” which ended last February, recently gained huge popularity in China.

“We are gaining an advertising impact in China thanks to Jun. As for stores in Myeongdong and Sinchon, popular tourist destinations, sales from Chinese tourists account for around 70 percent of total sales,” said Park Chang-geun, chief of the company, at a press briefing Monday.

The company plans to ramp up its efforts to expand its business in China’s market by partnering with local companies. It aims to open stores in Beijing and Shanghai next year.

Nepa said it plans to open around 500 stores in overseas markets, including China and European countries, by 2020.
