The movie “Twenty,” starring Kim Woo-bin, alongside actor Kang Ha-neul and Lee Jun-ho of the boyband 2PM, crossed 2 million in ticket sales over the weekend, industry data showed Monday.

According to the Korea Film Council, more than 640,000 people watched the movie between April 3 and 5, pushing the total to just over 2.2 million.

For weekend ticket sales, “Twenty” took the second place after “Fast and Furious 7.”

The Korean movie’s success is partly fueled by the popularity of Kim, who plays the unemployed ladies’ man “Chi-ho” in the movie.

In a recent interview, Kim said that while he and his character are very different, there are similarities.

He said that he is also very light-hearted when mingling with his friends, and that playing the role enabled him to discover elements of his character he was unaware of.

“As I spent time as Chi-ho, I discovered aspects of myself that I was unware of. I found myself dancing playfully (in the movie) without trepidations,” he said in the interview.
