Actor Kim Woo-bin may not be starring in the upcoming MBC drama written by the Hong Sisters.

Although Kim was in talks with the producers to star in the drama, he is said to have been forced to back out due to a clash of schedules.

According to an unnamed industry official, Kim informed the production company of his decision, and the company is already in talks with other actors.

MBC, however, denied reports that other actors have been contacted and said that discussions are still under way.

In the series -- written by Hong Jung-eun and Hong Mi-ran -- Kim was to play a restaurateur.

However, with the scripts failing to materialize on time, Kim is said to have backed out as his schedule concerning the movie “Twenty” prevented him from taking cooking lessons and making other preparations for the role.

Due to the upcoming movie, which will be released on March 25, Kim is set to attend various promotion events and media interviews.

While Kim is no longer involved, actress Kang So-ra is said to be set on playing the female lead.

Kang will play a woman who was forced to raise her brother after their parents’ death.
