Kim, whose popularity has skyrocketed since starring the hit television series “My Love from the Star,” follows the K-pop group Big Bang and actor Lee Min-ho in promoting the airline.

“Kim Soo-hyun, who is the top hallyu star in Asia, has been selected as Jeju Air’s new face,” Jeju Air said.

As part of the year-long contract, Kim will appear in various on- and offline promotion materials.

“(The company) will roll out marketing activities (aimed at) strengthening brand recognition in Asia and the corporate image.”

Since starring as an alien opposite Jun Ji-hyun in “My Love from the Star,” which aired from 2013 to early 2014 in Korea, Kim has become one of the most sought-after celebrities in Asia.

Aided by the series’ success, Kim is reported to be receiving numerous offers from Chinese and Korean advertisers with 2014 earnings coming in at over 50 billion won ($44 million).
