Korean rapper Beenzino‘s new song “So What” stormed major online music charts on the day of release on Wednesday.

“So What” snagged the No. 1 spot on real-time popularity charts at Melon, Bugs and Naver Music websites.

In the three-minute, 40-second song, Beenzino shares a piece of his mind on the Internet-driven society.

“Some people will judge me based on my Instagram photos. In the end what the world believes in is a few shots of me they see online and what I wear. One truth I realized is that I am nobody’s hero,” the rapper said. “Don’t waste your time on the Internet.”

He encourages people to shrug off others’ judgmental opinions with the magical lines “So what” and “Live your life before it’s too late.”

Beenzino promoted his song a day before its release, for which he took the motif of the three wise monkeys. It symbolizes the age-old Japanese maxim, “See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.”
