K-pop group SHINee’s Onew will take a lead role in an upcoming Web drama called “Dating Was the Easiest,” the production team said on Monday.

Based on an eponymous online cartoon serialized on portal site Daum, the drama involves a love story between a tiger, a mythical animal deity of a mountain, and a teenage girl.

Onew will act as the tiger-god who morphs into a human boy to protect and watch over the girl he loves.

The lead actress has yet to be decided.

“Dating Was the Easiest” will be available from the end of April via Daum’s online TV podcast.

Web drama, whose single episode is usually 10-15 minute long, is gaining popularity as Koreans increasingly watch their favorite dramas on their smartphones.
