JYJ member Jaejoong will enlist in the mandatory military service on March 31, his label C-JeS Entertainment said Wednesday.

The 29-year-old idol will join the Army after wrapping up his fan meeting schedule and filming for the KBS drama “Spy,” in which he plays the male lead.

“He has a sense of responsibility for his military duty, as many are taking interest in his enlistment. He will enjoy his time with his fans and family (before enlistment,)” said an official from his label.

His bandmate Yoochun, who will turn 29 in June, will also join the Army within the year, while Junsu, a year younger than the two, will begin his military duty sometime next year.

Several other pop stars are waiting to join the military service this month. Super Junior members Shindong and Sungmin will also enlist in the Army on March 24 and 41, respectively.

In Korea, all able-bodied men aged between 18 and 35 have to serve about two years in the military to deter threats from North Korea.

The singer-turned-actor will attend an event for fans of the drama “Spy” on March 15 and hold a fan meeting, titled “The Beginning of the End,” on March 28-29 at Korea University in Seoul.
